Wow! Two posts in one
day! Well this one is short(er)! The only reason I am making 2 posts is
because as I viewed the 1st entry and saw the date, I remembered
that today is Valentine’s Day. I’m not
super big on Valentine’s Day and I never have been. My husband and I made a mutual decision many
years ago to not celebrate it. It was
always kinda stressful for me, really!
Ha! In all honesty, we prefer to just
show each other we love one another in fun ways at random times! It’s a lot more adventurous that way, in my
opinion!! Anyway… Our son, on the other hand, is an avid
celebrator of EVERY single holiday there is (except Presidents day and Columbus
day and such)! He absolutely LOVES to
decorate his bedroom for the holiday and be as festive as possible! This leads me to one of my downfalls (side
rant!). Television… I tend to try to do a lot of things around
the house when he’s home. Or do things I
want taken care of uninterrupted. So he
watches more TV than I would like. It’s
something I’ve cut back on with him, but not as much as necessary. My point with the TV talk is that he gets so
many ideas for holidays from his TV shows!
It’s great, but a little overwhelming at the same time!
But you know what?
This little boy has been SUCH an inspiration to me. I can’t even begin to express how much. One example is today! Valentine’s Day! A few days ago I took him to the Dollar Tree
and let him pick out $5 worth of decorations for his room. These trips we take (for every holiday!!!)
make my son the happiest little boy on the planet! It warms my heart! Such simplicity, but it’s such a big deal to
him and means so much. I guess it really
is the small things in life!
He also inspired me to make heart-shaped pink pancakes this
morning for breakfast. He wasn’t as
appreciative or excited about it as I had hoped he would be, but I actually got
some enjoyment out of it myself and my husband was quite impressed! I got the idea from something someone posted
on Facebook. Ya gotta love Facebook! Anyhow…
I attached the picture of my pancakes below! If anyone is interested in how I did it, let
me know and I’ll get cha in the know on the heart-shaped pancake biz! Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!!

Just like our mothers taught us, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!
